This is probably as good a time as any to share a few notes about our first Girls in Space story. It was originally titled One for One, a reference to Zoe being left on Earth and Red being taken into space.

With the exception of the first few pages and the current page, The Prototype is set entirely on Earth. The first story had to happen this way to set up my concept for all the future stories where an Earth girl and a Space girl have amazing sci-fi adventures in a pimped out Volkswagen Bus. As you may have guessed from today’s update, space adventures are just around the corner.

As of next week I will be updating the comic on Mondays and Thursdays (rather than Fridays). Looking at my stats I realised that the Monday pages were getting lots more viewers than the Friday pages, and I suspect it is because people who read at work would have had four days to see the Monday page, but only one day to see the Friday page. Hopefully this will balance things out.

Yikes – this is turning into an epic post, so I’ll wrap it up now. Hope you can come back on Monday to see the cover for the next story and Thursday for the first page.

Friday brings the final page of The Prototype, but fear not, the next story follows on without interruption (starting with story 2′s Cover page on Monday).

So what became of the cat in Page 14? It looks like he used up one of his nine lives and survived. So how did it end up in the VW? Eagle-eyed readers may have spotted it sneaking into the MacRumble Classic Car garage on Page 26.

Speaking of cats, my old comic The Cat Comic ended earlier this year, but as of today I have set the archive to re-run an old comic each Monday, over at The Cat Comic website. If you want a fix of cat silliness, check it out!
