Faye Strider
Faye Strider is the younger of the Strider sisters. When her older sister Zoe is marooned on Earth, Faye takes charge of the recovery mission.
Without her sister, Faye is left in charge of their taxi and delivery business, Sanctuary. This is also the name of their Space Station home.
Faye is friendly, fashion-loving and is motivated by a strong sense of duty, whether to her sister or to her customers. Faye’s love of fashion is thwarted by her sense of duty, because although she loves clothes, she feels she has to wear a uniform when working. Her red uniform is the outfit she is most often seen wearing.
Red MacRumble
Red MacRumble is a fiery redhead lost in the universe against her wishes. At the start of the story, Red has just completed High School and is planning to take year out to travel around Europe in her old VW Bus. However, the events in the first story The Prototype change her plans dramatically, and she (and her bus) end up in space.
Red is determined to get back to Earth and normality.
Despite her feisty attitude Red is often the voice of reason.
Zoe Strider
Zoe Strider is an alien among us. When Red and Faye are launched into space, Zoe is left behind. However, rather than sitting waiting, she starts her own mission to try to get back into space. This mission is funded by her job as a multi-lingual translator, having learned all of Earth’s languages.
Zoe is interested in electronics and is capable of making futuristic devices not yet developed on Earth.
As the only person on Earth aware of Zoe’s background, Red’s brother Fergus invites Zoe to live with him. Fergus and Zoe become friends themselves.
Fergus MacRumble
Fergus is the brother of Red MacRumble. He is a mechanic who runs his own restoration garage, MacRumble Classic Cars.
When we first meet Fergus he is an overweight gambling addict with low self-esteem and a speech impediment. However, the events in The Prototype transform him into a muscular hunk.
When solving problems, he often overlooks the most obvious solutions in favour of a more creative alternative. This may be a result of his upgrades.
The Orb
Is he a life form? Is he a computer? Who knows?!
The Orb is a strange floating sphere of knowledge who provides information to the space girls.
