Apologies to anyone who doesn’t remember this advert and therefore doesn’t get today’s page. Hopefully it makes some sort of sense even without the knowledge of the ad. I found it on YouTube (not sure why this version has a laugh track on it!)
So yes, Zoe’s story is concluding. She’s finally landed a job as a translator thanks to the languages that she had downloaded way back on page 9 of The Prototype. Hopefully this will help her pay for spaceship detector components, as mentioned on page 8 of Push the Button.

I thought everybody did know Swahili! Well here is to Alien intelligence! Wait a sec… If she is working… Does she have her papers! Darn illegal aliens! Lol
Haha! Genius!
I love this comic.
Then you had to go and make one of the characters a polyglot. I love it even more now.
Thank you!
In fact, she’s gone one step further to omniglot (if that’s a real word!)!
That first panel sounds like some of my interviews.
Haha! At a job interview I was once asked “What is your biggest weakness?” I responded with “Kryptonite”. Didn’t get the job. :/
Zoe speaks all the world’s languages; wow, I didn’t see that one coming at all, but it makes perfect sense.
I thought it would be a fun way to send Zoe on adventures all over the world.
ah ha! She DOES have some redeeming qualities!
…and also a winning smile!
How could you do that to us? We all wait eagerly to see what this famous red button does and you just let us hang once again! Do you write scripts for TV serials? They also always ends with a cliffhanger.
Please, please, please post the continue asap!
Forgot the
smiley in my post. Please don’t take it too serious.
Fear not – smiley taken as read!
Yes, I couldn’t resist holding off on the big reveal. It’s things like this that stop people inviting me to parties.
I does some researches by myself and I think I know what the button’s function is: It starts the infinite improbability drive! In this case I hope the girls have their towels with them…
Just as long as they don’t have to endure any Vogon poetry!
Hey, now I know why she understands all languages: She has a babelfish in her ear!
And what’s that, a british embassy in Edinburgh? Well, well, scotland has a lot of independence but that…
Haha!
Jeez – you always make me work hard to come up with explanations to things in my own comic! Okay, let’s try this one… Edinburgh does have lots of Embassies for other countries, one of which decided to throw a reception and invite representatives from the British Embassy, but because there’s no British Embassy in Edinburgh they had to hire a local translator. Hey presto!
Well, I try my very best! No, sorry if I put your comic on a dissection table. I guess I have a very analytical view. Btw, I guessed a little joke from a scotch about the british. At one of my visits in London I made the big mistake to call my roommate in the youth hostel an english man. He was from Wales. I know it’s same about the scottish people, so that was my intention.
Happy for Zoe! btw, I want chocolate balls
