Push The Button (Page 28)

“The Button” was mentioned on page 10 and is referred to in the title of the current story.

This page had a bit of a Eureka moment for me.  Throughout the story, the character designs have been tweaked here and there, but none more than Faye’s.  I could never get her quite the way I wanted to look…. until this page.  Because I work quite far ahead (I’m about a third of the way through the next story, at the time of writing) I can tell you that from this point on, Faye’s design really starts to settle down.

When I wrote this page I didn’t plan on making it look like a 3 by 3 grid.  It was only when I started to layout the speech bubbles that I realised I could use the repetition as a quirky way to present the page.  Hope you like it!

Maybe they should play that Stolen Babies song if they are going to push the button. You know, this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHDhA35KR_I

Great song! I didn’t know the song, but now I do! Funnily enough the song I keep hearing in my head whenever I write the name of this story is Galvanise by the Chemical Brothers, which says “Push the Button” a few times at the end.

I think the button should open up a parallel universe where their dopplegangers come out and face off against them, but they all have mustaches to tell them apart… :D

Haha! It’s funny that you should say that. In my notepad I have a single panel gag where Faye is standing next to a bearded doppleganger and Red is pointing a gun at them saying “but which one is the *real* Faye”. Great minds think alike!!
