Push The Button (Page 26)

While reading back through the story, I suddenly realised that Fergus hadn’t been seen since page 8 was posted back in May!  So, I decided to deviate from my original script and replaced a page of space adventure (which wasn’t really working anyway) with this one.  I hope it doesn’t disrupt the flow of the story too much (as it is neither about the space chase or Zoe’s job hunt).  Oh well, at least it has a nice car in it!

    Hahaha!

Classic missunderstanding when a word could mean different things. By the way, it looks like you like classic VW cars. When will the first beetle appear in the comic?

    • Spencey

I do indeed love classic VWs. I’ve never owned one, or indeed even a new VW, but I would love to. It’s inevitable that a Beetle will appear at some point. Maybe a Girls in Space / Herbie crossover! :)

      • GDupons

Wait, at the first and second panel the car has a roof and not a convertible top. But later we saw Fergus drive this car open. How does that work?

        • Spencey

I could pretend it is deliberate and that Fergus did some more work to it between panels 2 and 3, but if I’m honest, you’ve spotted a continuity error!

What happened was that I didn’t draw the panels in order (or on the same day), so when I drew panel 2, I wanted to show a symmetry between the old and the restored vehicle by making it like a mirror image. I completely forgot that in order to make Fergus able to talk to the girls I had made the car a convertible. Well spotted.

Don’t worry, that could happen and didn’t make the strip less funny!

I just have to try that pickup line sometime.
    Totally worth a black eye.

    • Spencey

It is indeed worth a black eye. Maybe two. However, if you get three, I’ll be impressed! :)

No idea what the double entendre is here, but I can tell one happened by the reactions.

    • Spencey

I think it was more of a single entendre. I’m not smart enough for the full double! ;)

Hey, Fergus is back! Nice :)
