Push The Button (Page 23)

I’ve been experimenting recently with the idea of placing things over the top of word balloons.  This page was one of the first experiments I tried.  It’s quite subtle (panel 3 if you missed it) but I thought it helped to make a page of two talking heads more interesting to look at.

I came up with this joke when I was in the final stages of my old comic Dr Sheep and the Aardvark.  Unfortunately I couldn’t make it fit into the ending so I left it on my ideas notepad for another project.  When I was thinking of different scenarios in which Zoe would get fired, I was very pleased to discover I had a page already written!  All I had to do was change the line “Oh no, Aardvark!  Please don’t tell me you’ve been fired again!”

See you on Monday for more spacegirl fun.  Have a great weekend and tell all your friends and family about Girls in Space.  Especially your uncle.  He’ll love it!

Haha! Maybe they were ugly to begin with and the dropping incident actually fixed his or her face? Like a kind of lucky accidental cosmetic surgery!
