The Prototype (Page 25)

Today’s page picks up where last Monday’s left off, and reveals that Fergus wasn’t planning on using the prototype on the gangsters he owes money too after all.  Well, at least, not directly.

This weekend, I put a lot of work into Girls in Space.  As you may have spotted, the site looks a little different today.  I changed it from a two-column layout to a three-column layout in order to make better use of the space and to make room for ad spaces.

I also made a few changes to the comic itself.  When my computer crashed in January, I lost a lot of data including the font to create the Girls in Space logo.  Although I could have downloaded it again, I decided to play around with the design instead, and came up with the one now showing in the top left corner of the screen.

In addition, I made a major change to this particular story – the title.  It was originally called One for One (because I thought it sounded like a good title for the first story).  However, having now drawn up the entire first story, I felt that One for One didn’t reflect this tale, and wasn’t a particularly exciting story title.  The focus of this story is the prototype that the girls are delivering, and I wanted the title to reflect this.  I changed the title to the simpler and more intriguing The Prototype.  It also seems more fitting for their first story to be The Prototype.  It means that the cover page looks more fitting and the introduction of the Prototype on Page 9 has more weight to it.

This weekend also allowed me to finish the remaining pages for the first story.  I have now uploaded the whole tale to the site, and I can confirm that this story will conclude at the end of April, ready for story 2 to begin with the first update in May.

All in all, it has been a busy weekend, but I really feel as if I’ve moved things forward considerably.  I can’t tell you how excited I am about the future of Girls in Space  and I just can’t wait to share the girls’ adventures with you.

great work on the updates, it’s barely noticeable.

Good title change too, The Prototype is a much more engaging title.

Thanks Andy, much appreciated. I tried to be as subtle as I could with the changes. I may try out a few ad services and see how they compare, but I must admit I like that Google ads can match my blue and pink colour scheme! :D

Just dropping a line to say I am enjoying your comic so far. I come here every day, partly to check out your hilarious reviews! The pumpkin heads nearly made me fall off my chair (and that is no exaggeration). I can only say MORE! MORE! MORE! See you tomorrow and thanks for the fun.

Wow – thank you so much. I really appreciate you coming back to check for updates. I’ve got the entire first season of Original Trek reviewed and scheduled and I’m working on season 2, so there will be plenty more over the coming months. Thanks once again!

Haha! Thanks – ‘Go George’ is something I often think when I read your comic. ;)
