The Prototype (Page 02)

Today’s comic picks up from Monday’s with an attempt being made to place a distress call.  I’ve tried to make each update work by itself, but when read together, will form a story.

In addition to starting this comic, I am learning a lot about the new version of Comicpress which this site is built with.  The site currently uses the factory settings but once I have a little more time I hope to customise it a lot more.  This version of Comicpress has a lot of nice features, such as hovertext over the comics (which I am trying out this month) and ‘mood’ icons (which I will try out soon once I have put together some images for it).

Thanks for all the comments so far.  I really appreciate them.  Launching a new comic is great fun and I’m excited about sharing the pages I have put together so far.  At the time of writing, I have 10 pages of the story completed and scheduled, which acts as a nice buffer and allows me some flexibility when I work on the comic.

Next week we have two more pages (again on Monday and Friday), another Star Trek review (Wednesday) and I found a really fun Spacegirl video which I’ll put up on Thursday.

Thanks for reading!

I missed this update, I thought you only posted on Mondays!

Will we be seeing the Lingerie Hut any time soon? Or maybe just lingerie? ;)

Haha! Yes, the comic will update twice weekly – Mondays and Fridays (thanks to your message I will mention that somewhere on the front page!)

I don’t specifically have Lingerie Hut but now that you mention it, it could be quite good fun to draw! :)

I absolutely love the punchline in the last panel and I’ll tell you why – I HATE those automated directories that are voice operated. I know they’re trying to be all futuristic, but they always hear people in the room with me or interpret a cough as a word. And I have really bad allergies so I’m almost always coughing.

Thanks Eric, and thanks for commenting. I’d love to sneak an extra phrase onto the options list “For a long button search, hit the Kangaroo button”

Hahaha, yeah, I really really really don’t like automated messages, and this comic proves the point, thanks! :)

Yes those automated messages are a pain in the a… about the Kangaroo Button, is that pressed once for a big leap or is there a Bugs Bunny and Tarzan option? :)
